Athletes are required to attend at least 80% of scheduled training sessions to be eligible for gameplay. Consistent training is essential for skill development and team cohesion.
  2. 70% Commitment to Gameplay
To ensure active participation, athletes must attend at least 70% of all games during the season.

If an athlete is unable to attend training or gameplay, they must communicate promptly with the Head Coach, Sandra Wallace.

Enjoy

You will play better if you're having fun. Try not to be too tough on yourself and move on with confidence.

Movement

Outwit your opponent through clever movement across the court

Space

Finding space will allow for a faster delivery across the court.  Try not to cluster together and spread out.

Passing

Try a range of passing, short, high, low, bounce the ball if needed.  A pass may not always be conventional, be ready to receive any pass.

Rebound

Remember to expect the rebound even if the ball goes in.  Good rebounding will increase points. Shoot & Respond!!

Communicate

Speak to one another, let your team know that your free and ready to receive the ball.

How are your fitness levels?

Do you think you could play all 4 quarters and still have more to give?

Confidence is Key for Performance

How we get there is up to you! Understand your role within the team and work on your weaknesses to make them a strength.  Practice makes perfect whether this is on your own or with the team and improve your fitness levels as this will be your advantage.

To be the best you can:

Attacking Players -  50 Shots a day

Centre Court Players- 1 minute ball skills & 1 minute of high knees every day

Defensive Players - 1 minute fast feet & 1 minute side stepping every day

Fitness for Everyone - 1 minute of skipping ropes per day

Preparation

Is mental preparation useful to game play?  If yes, how can we do it?

We are a TEAM

Team inclusion is key for success, getting to know all your other athletes and what key aspect they can bring to the team. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses but a true winning team will rally around an athlete when her weakness become apparent on the court and how we guide that player in the right direction is how we show real team spirit.
